Old Film Buddy Rears Not So Ugly Head

Yesterday we did a live show on RTHK with ah-Sa shivering with fear as usual – what would I say this time? Last time I said “screw you” about the evil students castigating our dear leader for his bad imperialist mando-ese, and this time I had the chance to say “shit” – with impunity you see, because SHIT (屎 si) is part of the word 鼻屎,bei si, ‘nose shit’ or snot. So life’s not bad!

Yesterday’s episode was mostly about flowers, about which I know nothing, so learnt something there. And the guy needing to know flowery language was none other than my old mate David from Sydney and star of the only film in my series Cantonese – The Movie that has a sequel.

I proudly present both of them here. Watch them in the same sequence, otherwise you won’t understand a thing. David plays Forceful Hag.

Today I want to publicly thank a Norwegian writer named Are Kalvø who in the year 2007 had a brilliant idea which inspired me no end. He would travel all around Norway and eat in

My First Foray into Solo Podcasting – Outcasting

Here is the first podcast I ever made without the soothing, nay, dulcet tones of Ah-Sa hovering in the back-and-foreground. Podcasts will be a regular occurrence from now on; I welcome ideas, locations and of

So Many Ways To Learn Canto!

As imperial-Mando encroaches on our linguistic liberties, it goes without saying that more and more people who don’t like to be dictated to, want to learn Cantonese. But many are concerned about time, commitment, pain,
